Vehicle belonging to Vice President of Ecuador assaulted, staff held hostage for two hours

A vehicle of the Vice Presidency carrying 1,000 soccer balls, a box of books, a plasma TV and materials for a presentation, was assaulted at 04:30 yesterday 30 minutes from Canton Chone, in the province of Manabi , the bank said in a statement. The report said the heavily armed assailants intercepted the truck with another vehicle and forced the occupants to get out of the vehicle, then tied them up and took them under threat, to one side of the road, where they were kept for two hours.
