Ecuador: Bank Inside Ministry of Foreign Affair’s Passport Office Robbed

ASSAILANTS STORMED THE BANK, HIGHLY ARMED, PASSED THEMSELVES OFF AS MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIR’S EMPLOYEES, NEARLY 50,000 US DOLLARS STOLEN

eluniverso.com reported that shortly before the amounts are collected by a armored vehicle and near the closing hour of a BanEcuador branch windows in the interior of Guayaquil Zonal Government, between five to eight criminals stormed the site on Friday, taking an approximate amount of 49 thousand Dollars.

The assailants, according to witnesses, arrived in a nearby street on board four motorcycles and passed themselves off as EMPLOYEES of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Passport office. Finally they waited for the main door to be closed to intimidate the tellers of the three windows that just prepared the money that would be taken by one armored to another entity.

At approximately 5:10 pm on Friday, an armored vehicle had planned to transfer the proceeds on the day of work to the issuing and renewal office, according to the National Police.
