Reynosa, Mexico: Leader of Gulf Cartel Captured

From Peru.com on August 18, 2013- Mexican authorities have reported the arrest of Armando Ramirez Trevino, leader of the Gulf Cartel. Ramirez Trevino is linked to armed attacks against police, organized crime, kidnappings, and drug trafficking. The U.S. Justice Department had warrants issued for Ramirez Trevino’s arrest on charges of drug trafficking, and offered a $5 million USD reward for information that led to his capture. Reynosa, Tamaulipas is at the center of the conflict between the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas for control of the drug flow into the United States. Read Article
