We have not even learned from the failed past experiences. According Intermon-Oxfam, Spain could reach 18 million poor people in a decade (almost 40% of the population) that with the prevailing austerity measures and welfare cuts, as happened in Latin America and East Asia in the eighties and nineties, which would retard recovery 25 years of social welfare level before the crisis.
