Santa Fe Province, Argentina: Police Officer Caught Working in Sex Trafficking Network

On July 8, 2013 Redacción Santa Fe Noticias reported that police have uncovered a sex trafficking gang kidnapping women, including minors, in Santa Fe. The victims were then taken to Puerto General San Martín and San Lorenzo, where they were sexually exploited.
Police also arrested two women as well as a taxi driver and a policeman. According to the police report, Mariela Alejandra Sandoval and Zunilda Guadalupe Godoy were in charge of coordinating the specific sites where the victims worked as prostitutes. Taxi driver Martín Gómez worked to find new victims and move them from Santa Fe to Puerto General San Martín and San Lorenzo. The gang also employed a uniformed officer, Rodrigo Adán María Delgadino, who used his status as a police officer to guarantee freedom of movement for the girls working as prostitutes. Read Article
