BUS DRIVER SEVERELY INJURED IN BUS HEIST

nicopeninsula.com / The bus 13 of the Cooperativa Libertad Peninsular that was assaulted on Tuesday night when the bus was traveling from Santa Elena to Guayaquil. The three assailants were also passengers on the bus. The robbery/assault took place in the area of Villingota. Victims reported that the gun toting bandits were armed with guns.

After robbing the passengers of the micro, the assailants ordered the the driver to stop the bus. However, he refused and was seriously injured when attacked. Police in Villingota on hearing of the incident assisted the frightened passengers and requested an ambulance for the transfer of the injured driver to a hospital.

The assailants boarded the bus at the Sumpa Terrestrial Terminal in Santa Elena. Authorities are investigating the videos of those who boarded the bus in hopes of identifying the robbers. Read Article
