Peru: Fog No Longer Obstacle for Airlines Nationwide

ElComercio.pe reports that the new Peruvian Traffic Control Center of Air Traffic will monitor more than 80% of the Peruvian sky, even during bad weather. Officials say that the traffic control center received new equipment, the AIRCON 2100 that will allow air traffic controllers to monitor Peruvian sky under any condition. On Tuesday July 12th President Alan Garcia inaugurated the new air traffic control building, located in Lima’s Jorge Chavez International Airport. The new building reportedly cost $2 million. Officials add that flights will not be affected by fog and eight new radar systems have been installed around the country. Furthermore, the new equipment will create new flight paths, cutting down on fuel consumption and the amount of pollution.Read Article
