Peru: Amnesty on weapons permits expire, 185,193 weapons considered illegal

Larepublica.pe reported the REALITY, With the completion of the amnesty, there were 2,500 orders for renewal of the 185,193 weapons that have already expired license. 268 pistols, revolvers, shotguns and rifles were delivered from May to DICSCAMEC. Experts say there are another 200 thousand to outlaw.

We realized that in recent years there is increasing acquiring weapons between individuals and corporations,” says Gen. Carcovich.

The senior official also admitted the existence of mafias in DICSCAMEC; gave licenses to one firm. “In my administration has just five months, we have reported and opened a 5 criminal corrupt officials,” he revealed.

He says that previously used strips style weapons civil war now use rifles to commit their robberies.
