Ecuador: Armed Forces Seize 750 Kilos of Explosives on Border with Colombia

ccffaa.mil.ec reported the armed forces seized large amount of explosives (Anfo) that were found abandoned in a boat, during a border control operation executed by members of the operational command no. 1 ”, on Saturday, August 09, in the sector of Conejo-Riveras, rio San Miguel, province of Sucumbíos, on the border with Colombia. The explosive, estimated at approximately 752,9 kilograms, had been hidden in 17 bags of jute. Nobody was arrested in this operation. The seized material was handed over to the competent authorities.

WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION

Through arms control operations coordinated among members of the No. 4 “central” operational command and the command of intelligence military set (COIMC) personnel, the armed forces. seized 05 firearms, 26 ammunition of various calibers and two accessories. Operation applied on August 08 at the Quevedo canton, province of Los Ríos.
