Argentina: Judge changes charges against youths in drug case, prison sentence avoided

Judge Eduardo Valiente decided to permit the 3 youths discovered in possession of two kilos of cocaine and several grams of marijuana to be freed without a prison sentence. After reviewing the case, the judge decided to change the original charge of drug possession with the intention of marketing purposes to the transport of drugs, which bears a lower penalty. According to La Mañana, the youths were released in Formosa, Argentina on June 7, 2012 after 21 days of detainment.
