(On April 30th, 2017, Latinamericacurrentevents.com did receive confirmation that an assault did in fact take place on the farm mentioned.)

During the early morning hours (reported possibly between 4-5 AM) on April 28, 2017, approximately fifteen to twenty minutes (12 or 14 kms) south from Vilcabamba in a rural area called Masanamaca Ecuador, a rural farm owned by an Ecuadorian became a victim of a home invasion. The assailants were armed and traumatized those living on the property including an unknown number of expats.

It is reported that there were a total of 12 armed masked assailants who may have had Colombian accents. The owner and others were tied up and traumatized from between 4 – 5 hours. The assailants believed the owner had a large quantity of cash hidden on the property. No injuries have been reported as well as no information as to cash or other items stolen. The owner was threatened with death and the assailants stated they would return. Apparently, the owner and undisclosed number of children have left the area. It is believed that there are at least five homes on the property. The exact number of expats living there has not been verified.
