UNASUR publishes member countries defense budgets

he defense ministers and delegates of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) have met in Quito (Ecuador) to present the South American record in Defense Spending. Compiled by the Center for Strategic Defense (CEED), this report details the defense expenditure made by the 12 member countries in 2006-2010 and is a significant event in terms of trust and transparency. The registry was introduced by Secretary of Strategy and Military Affairs of the Argentine Ministry of Defense and Director of CEED: Alfredo Forti, who did not disclose the budgets that each country devotes to defense and security, indicating that first delivered the report to defense ministers at a meeting in Paraguay, on 4 June. “The numbers, he said, speak for themselves, we are doing an analysis or interpretation.
