Tumbaco Ecuador: thugs rob hostel of thousands of dollars, equipment, two detained

EMPLOYEES TIED UP BY ASSAILANTS
The robbery of an inn and reception center forced the police to deploy a ‘movie’ operative in the Santa Rita sector, south of Quito.

lahora.com.ec reported the incident occurred yesterday morning in the parish of Tumbaco, to the northeast of the District.
Four thugs entered the tourist site and seized $ 3,000 in cash, televisions and other household goods. The thugs tied up employees so they would not interfere with the robbery. According to the first information received by the police, the criminals escaped in two cars, one of them a blue Chevrolet Aveo. The uniformed men alerted the units of the whole city so that they were pending of the cars with the characteristics detailed by the victims. The vehicles were identified. One of the cars entered a mechanic in the sector of Santa Rita, supposedly they were going to repair a mechanical damage.

Two people were detained for investigations while authorities are still behind the Aveo trail where the two other alleged assailants fled. The suspects would have wanted to leave the shop after realizing that the uniformed men followed, but all possible escape routes were closed. (FLC)
