On June 11, 2012, officials discovered a cocaine kitchen during a home raid in the El Cazador neighborhood of Escobar, Argentina, where they seized 740 kilos of cocaine. A few days later in the same area, another cocaine kitchen was discovered, according to La Nación. Police involved in the raid stated that both discoveries were the result of the same investigation. Five people were arrested in the most recent discovery. 20 kilos of cocaine were seized, along with 23 kilos of pasta base. This amount can produce about 60-70 kilos of marketable cocaine at a value of 2 million pesos. The arrestees belong to the same family, investigators say. Officials believe the drugs were to be distributed for consumption within Argentina. Read Article
