First same-sex divorce in Argentina

Lesbian couple Vanessa and Angela began the divorce process this week, they told agmagazine.info, making this the first same-sex divorce in Argentina since the equal marriage law was passed last year. The two were the first same-sex couple to be married in the province of La Rioja, gaining much media coverage at their wedding on April 20th. They had been together for 6 years and decided to separate due to loyalty issues. Since the passage of the equal marriage law, the country has married 1,300 gay and lesbian couples.
