Quito, Ecuador: Foreigner Arrested Wearing Religious Garb

According to ElComercio.com at 7:00 in the morning on Friday June 17th police arrested a foreigner, Dameus B. who was trying to enter Ecuador at Quito’s Mariscal Sucre airport with 32 people. Dameus was dressed in religious clothes, as was the rest of the group. Police report that Dameus was already under investigation in Ecuador for a case in which two people who tried to enter Ecuador with documents filed by Dameus reported to police that he was a fraud. Dameus has professed his innocence report police. He is in the custody of the judicial police in Quito. The 32 foreigners that Dameus was transporting to Ecuador for up to USD 4,000 will be deported.Read Article
