BOMB THREATS MAY BE USED AS DISTRACTION TO ALLOW ASSAILANTS TO COMMIT ROBBERY ASSAULTS / CAUTION RESIDENTS FOR GREATER VIGILANCE WHEN RETRIEVING FUNDS FROM THE BANK

ECUAVISA.COM REPORTED: The Iñquito sector, north of the capital, was convulsed by a call that alerted the bomb threat, near midday on January 19. In Amazonas avenue was restricted the transit due to the police procedure of the Anti-Bomb Squadron.
Few minutes passed and another alert was reported a few blocks away. A man was intercepted by 2 thugs who assaulted him with firearms to extract a large sum of money he had withdrawn from a banking agency.
Norman Cano, Chief Police Iñaquito Circuit, believes that the threat of bomb and this robbery, at the same time, are not a coincidence, since it could be a distracting element.
The police set up a search and tracing operation, without having greater results.
Given this event, the gendarmes call on the community when they proceed to withdraw money from a financial agency.
Apparently in this case, there is a new form of assault in which distracting elements would be used to commit the crimes. Read Article, view video
