Peru: Weather alert, severe cold warning May 10-15 high provinces of Puno Region

The National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology Service of Peru (SENAMHI-Puno), reports that on the evening of Thursday 10 May to Tuesday 15 May, falling temperatures will be presented in the High Andean provinces over 3,900 m Puno Region.

The affected provinces are Carabaya, Melgar, Azángaro, Lampa, San Antonio de Putina, Lampa, San Roman and Huancané Highland Puno, Mold, Yunguyo, El Collao and Chucuito.

Against this backdrop, the National Civil Defence – INDECI recommends that people implement the measures to prepare for the season of low temperatures using warm clothing and blankets to sleep and avoid sudden changes in temperature.

Similarly, should protect children and vaccinating older adults against pneumonia, using umbrellas and / or waterproof cover from the rain, repair houses and sheds used to protect animals.

On the other hand, encourages people to learn in health facilities on acute respiratory infections, with agricultural extension workers on the use of foliar fertilizer for crops and collaborate with civil defense offices of local government. Read Article
