Peru, Students of Ayacucho University Protest Misappropriation of Funds

  • According to ElComercio.pe more than 2,500 students from the National San Cristobal University of Huamanga began an indefinite strike today, Wednesday June 28th, to denounce the suspected misappropriation of funds by university authorities.
  • Reportedly, documents were released that revealed the embezzlement of funds by administrative workers.
  • Sources say that revenue from tuition and admission tests are only used for administrative payrolls and not to invest in the campus infrastructure, library capacity and other campus necessities.
  • Protesters are asking to community support against the university.Read Article
