Peru: Most-wanted narco-trafficker of Monzón Valley caught in Irazola

Joel Rosales Calixto (44), alias “Shiuri,” was caught by national police in Irazola, in the Padre Abad province of the Ucayali region in Peru on June 14, 2012. According to Diario Impetu, he had been one of the most wanted narco-traffickers operating in the Monzón Valley. He had moved to this area in order to centralize his drug activities in the Pichis Palcazú area. Shiuri had supplied drugs to Mexican and Colombian groups. Police were able to arrest him after spotting his vehicle in Irazola. Two other passengers were taken into custody, but were released. Read Article
