Peru: Five drug laboratories discovered and destroyed

Anti-drug special operations agents discovered five drug laboratories in the La Victoria area of the Santa Rosa district in the La Mar, Ayacucho province in Peru. The laboratories were described as rustic, and all five contained cocaine paste, Diario Correo reports. Other chemicals were found on the sites, including 893 gallons of 84 octane gasoline, 945 kilos of calcium hydroxide, 158 kilos of muriatic acid, and 10 tons of coca leaves. Officials were able to destroy the chemicals and drugs on the sites without harming the environment. No arrests were reported. Read Article
