Paraná, Brazil: Farmer Arrested for Marijuana Cultivation

Globo reported on May 15, 2013, that a 48-year old farmer was arrested for growing marijuana among cassava crops in Tupãssi, Paraná. The Military Police found 550 grams of marijuana ready for sale, marijuana seeds, R$1,000 in cash, a shotgun and ammunition. The farmer is accused of drug trafficking activity and illegal possession of a weapon although he claims he grew marijuana for his own consumption. Read Article
