Nine Cyclists Are Hospitalized Per Day in São Paulo, Brazil

On March 13, 2013, EBC reported that a recent study done by the Health Secretary in the state of São Paulo found that nine cyclists per day in the state are hospitalized due to traffic accidents.  The Secretary’s office reported that last year there were approximately 3,200 traffic accidents in São Paulo state involving cyclists.  The accidents generated approximately R$3.3 million in doctors’ visits.  Traffic engineers throughout the state recommend that cyclists wear brighter colors, so as to alert drivers of their presence.  Read Article
