Nearly two tons of cocaine seized in the Caribbean region over weekend

Nearly two tons of cocaine were seized in the Caribbean in two operations during the August 18, 2012 weekend. The first operation took place near San Blas Islands, Panama. According to Fox News Latino, a go-fast type boat was found by Colombian officials carrying 1,362 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride. No arrests were reported. The second operation, near the border of Panama and Costa Rica, resulted in the seizure of 568 kilos of drugs. The shipment was found by the U.S. Coast Guard on a ship that had departed from Colombia. Two men were arrested.
