Manaus, Brazil: Man Detained for Illicitly Selling Firearms

Globo reported on May 21, 2013 that a 63-year old suspect was arrested for illegally selling firearms at his home in Barrio Santa Etelvina, Manaus. According to police, the suspect repaired weapons and other services ranging between R$50 and R$200. The suspect did not have a license to sell firearms. Seized at the suspect’s home, were various types of firearms and ammunition. Considered a felony for illicitly selling firearms without a license, the suspect can face 4-8 years in prison.
