Head of Ndrangheta Italian mafia found in Bolivia

Alessandro Maria Maesano, head of the Italian Ndrangheta mafia wanted on multiple counts of narco-trafficking in Italy, was discovered in Santa Cruz, Bolivia after over a year of intelligence work. According to Los Tiempos, he had entered Bolivia via Chile with a false identity. The Ndrangheta is one of the largest mafias in Italy and its activities extend across Europe and Latin America. Officials believe the organization moves approximately 35 million euros each year, mostly a product of narco trafficking. Read Article
