Guayaquil Ecuador: Victim of motorcycle accident denied service at 9 health facilities, dies in ambulance

The Constitution of Ecuador declares the following:

Article 43: “… Under no circumstances will refuse emergency care in public or private.”

Health Law

Article 7: “Everyone, without discrimination, has the right to be served immediately with emergency professional services, provision of drugs and supplies needed in cases of imminent danger to life …”.

Roberto Antonio Quimí Huacón, 23, had planned to celebrate his birthday on Saturday “with all the law”, as recalled by his uncle Humberto Huacón, who said his nephew was “a fan of the holidays.”
