Guayaquil Ecuador: 100,000 dollars suspected counterfeit bills confiscated

eluniverso.com reported that hidden among furniture pads were found close to $100,000, apparently false. It happened in an apartment in Nicolás Augusto González and Babahoyo.

Banknotes of 100 and $10 find occurred around 17:30 yesterday when officers of the Brigade Anticriminal performed investigative tasks in this sector in the South of the city. According to an undercover officer, police performed research in the area when it was observed a subject in suspicious attitude and at time of review in one of his pockets were found $1,000 in $10 bills, whose origin could not explain. “Once we entered the apartment where they lived, we find several packages and on the inside of these, 10 bundles of $100 bills, he said came from Peru.” The policeman also said that at the time of the RAID a truck white Aveo approached the site and review also found several bills of different denominations, which were to be verified to check if they were false.
