The trip of former president of Ecuador Rafael Correa is already dated.

This Monday revealed that this will be his last week in the country. He plans to travel to Belgium next Monday 10.

He did this during a conversation with the students of the School of Economics of the Espol, where he assured that would be a momentary retirement, although it did not rule out that in the long run it is definitive. He denied that he would aspire to the Guayaquil City Hall.

“I do not know where they got that, believe me that even in my most remote dream I thought about that (to be candidate for mayor),” said Correa, who said that contrary to his plans had to give political statements to clarify some situations regarding the current Government of Lenin Moreno, with whom he said to lead a relationship of colleagues.

Anxiety with the regime

“Although I wanted to escape from politics, I had to give political opinions to many things that happened,” said Correa referring to the Odebrecht case and pointed out that the current regime applies a wrong strategy.

“For example, the treatment of corruption, bought the speech of the opposition, Odebrecht acted in 12 countries, but here is where there has been corruption, there is a dictator, there was division of powers, there was no control; And here we have to call the UNE and make an anti-corruption commission …, “Correa criticized sarcastically and added that” make believe that on May 24 began to investigate corruption and these things do bother and hurt. ” Read Article
