Ecuador to increase police force by 30,000 officers

Ecuador plans to increase to 69,000 the number of police officers dedicated to crime prevention through 2017 as part of a process of strengthening the institution of the order, said the Ecuadorian Minister of Interior, Jose Serrano. “Nationally, in 2017, there must be 69,000 policemen Preventive Police,” Serrano told the press the point that now there are 39,000 police.
