Ecuador: Three Colombian women caught in prostitution ring

Two Colombian women, 19 and 14, were arrested after officials caught them in a prostitution operation in Ecuador. They were travelling to a nightclub in the north of Ibarra to work, El Norte reports. The women were discovered during a routine traffic check after displaying suspicious behavior. Officials also noticed their Colombian accents. The two had attempted to hide in the bathroom on the bus in which they were travelling. They revealed that a second person was involved, Estela D. (52), who had trafficked the girls. This suspect was arrested at the bus station. She is believed to be responsible for contacting and recruiting Colombian women. Read Article
