Ecuador: The Federation of Public Workers Opting for Strike

According to ElComercio.com the Federation of Public Workers in Ecuador has signaled, through their union representative, they are leaning toward going on strike. The union representative, Miguel Garcia says the decision comes after the government’s Executive Decree 813 that establishes obligatory or bought resignations for state workers. As of now, Garcia says the union has not made an official decision since they are waiting for the other unions, like the Municipal Workers Union, to adopt a position. On Tuesday, July 19th various representatives of state unions will meet at 5 p.m. to make a final decision about the strike.Read Article
