Ecuador: Taxi Driver uses panic button during robbery, police never arrive

Eluniverso.com reported that the driver Armando S. reported that he was assaulted by a guy he picked up in the streets and Gómez Rendón Chimborazo, in the center of Guayaquil, and asked him to take him to the coop.

According to the victim, the passenger displayed a knife and threatened to kill the driver unless he turned over his belongings. During the robbery, the taxi driver activated the panic button on the vehicle which is to be monitored by ECU-911. According to the vicim, police never arrived.
