Ecuador: President Correa initiates proposal to eliminate term limits

APORREA.ORG reported that The president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, sent to the National Assembly a legal initiative, developed by the Alianza País (AP), which seeks to amend the Constitution and establish the right of all citizens for reelection continuous in all elected offices. Correa’s party, which has a majority in Congress, prepared the proposal encouraged by the mayor’s reelection opponent in Guayaquil (west), Jaime Nebot, who want to search his third term in the upcoming municipal elections, reported Telesur portal. The proposal was sent through a public letter to Nebot, which seeks agreement for the Ecuadorian people have no restriction to decide on who their rulers. Read Article
