Ecuador: Military seizes diesel fuel and explosives for illegal mining

Armed Forces personnel, through the various Operational Commands, won an important capture fuel and explosives during security operations carried out on Tuesday 19 March this year in several parts of the country.

On the way to Tarapoa, Sucumbios province, members of the CO-1 “NORTH” made a raid on the premises of the company EQUISERCOM CIA. LTDA., Which seized 4,138 gallons of diesel and arrested four people who were handed over to the competent authorities for investigations of law.

In a control operation against illegal mining in the canton Palora, Morona Santiago province, seized a dredge and detained two undocumented Colombians were turned over to the judicial police.

For its part, the Operational Command No. 3 “SUR” executed control operations against illegal mining in several areas of the provinces of El Oro and Loja, which seized the following items: 5012 blocks of explosives, 1,900 meters of safety fuse , 2,649 pounds of ammonium nitrate, nitrate prepared studs 02, 83 and 82 dioneles ordinary capsules triggers.
