Lower rates of homicide and accidents during Carnival holiday
Ecuadvisa.com reported….Homicide rates and traffic accidents down during the Carnival holiday in the country, the Ministry of Interior, which mobilized 47,000 police during the four days of celebration.
Deputy Interior Minister, Diego Fuentes, said that nationally 18 cases of violent deaths occurred in this holiday, while in the same period in 2015 the figure was 22 cases.

Also he noted that the rate of traffic accidents was reduced this year by 55% over the same holiday in 2015, and over the past four days there have been 458 traffic accidents.
In addition, police work to control public order as a result left 1,514 people arrested, 60 and seized 60 kilos of drugs seized weapons.
Ecuadorian authorities estimate that during the four days off have mobilized some 400,000 citizens to the various tourist destinations.
