Ecuador: Bus falls three hundred meters in crash, 16 dead over 20 injured

lahora.com.ec reported that this morning a bus belonging to cooperativa Transportes Chilla lost control and fell into a ravine of over 300 meters. This is a developing story – so far – 16 dead, and at least 20 injured. The bus was transporting workers. The accident happened in an area of El Oro called the “Devil’s Route” ; La ruta del diablo’. The victims were peasants Chilla Canton on their way to a pilgrimage to the Virgin of the Remedies, as a witness of the place.

Authorities and rescue body help control the situation, since the families of deceased and some have attended the crash site to recognize loved ones.
