Ecuador: 50 Percent of all music content on radio must be Ecuadorian produced, composed

lahora.com.ec reported as a “tool that ensures” Ecuadorian musicals contained a space of broadcasting on the radio, the Council’s regulation of communication (Cordicom) approved the regulations that rule the application of 1 X 1. The Council determined the mechanisms so that 50% of music content produced, composed, interpreted and executed in Ecuador are broadcast in the radio media. The new regulation defines as thematic or specialized radios to those whose programming content is not musical by 90%. Prohibits the radios to receive any form of remuneration out of the law which condition the diffusion of musical pieces. The contents of radio spots and promotional products that are distributed via drawing audiences are exempt from this ban. Read Article
