Ecuador: 32 Deaths Reported During Winter Season, Weather Related

vistazo.com reported… More than 35,000 families affected and 32 deaths are the new winter damage balance in Ecuador, according to the Secretariat of Risk Management (SGR).
In its latest report, dated April 21, the SGR indicated that 186 families are housed, 224 houses totally destroyed and another 32 thousand are structurally damaged. These figures correspond to the last months, since January of 2017.
In Manabí, one of the provinces most affected, the last incidents are the overflow of several ravines and affectations of 300 houses in Tosagua.
While in Guayas, the rural sector is the most affected. In Balao the retaining wall was broken by the flood of the river Balao and this affected 800 hectares of crops. Read Article
