Death Toll El Salvador 19 during Christmas Eve 2012

The death toll from violence since Christmas Eve until Christmas in El Salvador increased to 19, while 144 other people were injured, said the Civil Protection agency.

Under the “Bethlehem Plan 2012”, which began last Saturday, have been counted 144 injured, 59 burned with fireworks and 16 deaths, of which six were reported yesterday in the Christmas Eve party, said at a press conference the director civil protection, Jorge Melendez.

He said that of these, 15 died in road accidents and one from asphyxiation in a spa in the country.

For his part, the Deputy Minister of Health, Violeta Menjivar, Efe confirmed that three people have died from burns firecrackers in this December holidays, after exploiting sweatshops where elaborated. Read Article
