Car crash reveals 300 kilograms of marijuana in Ecuador

Around 2:30 p.m. on June 17, 2012, a van crashed into a San Remo vehicle in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The van driver had run a stop sign. The accident occurred at Street 20 and Letamendi Street. The van was spotted with license plate number GPC-0364, El Universo reports When police arrived, they discovered 10 packages of marijuana, weighing around 300 kilograms in total. The driver was able to escape, but the passenger, Luis Jimbo Montoya (54), was taken into custody. Jimbo is charged with counts of theft and possession of narcotics. Read Article
