Cuenca Ecuador: Police checkpoint, officers detain three suspected of arms trafficking

According tolatarde.com.ec the Second Court of Criminal of Azuay, issued the remand order for three individuals who were arrested yesterday in a military operation of gun control. Yesterday afternoon, we developed a successful arms control operating on the streets of Cuenca, by members of the Third Army Area Tarqui, leaving three people detained as a result, to find firearms and ammunition in the vehicle traveling. The suspects tried to evade the checkpoint, being caught on the street Avenida Rodrigo de Triana and Loja. After a review of automotive Chevrolet LBP-187 plate, Unit for Arms Control Army located a double bottom in the bucket of the truck. There remained handguns and rifles also some boxes of ammunition of different calibers. It was four 9 mm pistols and two rifles with telescopic sights.
