Cocaine “kitchen” found in Argentina; part of possible drug route to Europe

About a ton of high-purity cocaine was discovered in Escobar, Buenos Aires, Argentina in what has been described as a cocaine “kitchen.” The finding was confirmed by officials; however, as raids continue, police have declined to release additional information in the case it could hinder the ongoing investigations. 26 Noticias reports that the drugs were to be transported throughout the country and could have possibly been part of a drug shipment to Europe. According to the report, “cooking” cocaine has risen in popularity in Argentina, although officials stress that security efforts against such illegal laboratories have likewise increased.
