At least 1000 deaths across Latin America during “Holy Week”, 2012

At least a thousand deaths recorded during Holy Week in Latin America, where, according to statements presented so far, road accidents and drowning remains the leading cause of death, while in Central America reported an unusual number of jellyfish attacks.

As is customary in the region, the two religious events, which this year was first extended to Cuba, millions of people took the day off to travel to places of rest, especially the beaches, increasing the number traffic accidents and drowning. Read Article
