12 provinces Ecuador on yellow alert for weather emergencies

Ecuador’s government yesterday declared a yellow alert in the coastal provinces of the country and populations who are in the foothills of the western mountains due to heavy rains that have occurred in recent weeks and have resulted in 18 deaths. Manabi, Esmeraldas, Guayas, Santa Elena, El Oro, Los Rios, Santo Domingo, Galapagos, Canar, Azuay, Chimborazo and Cotopaxi are on yellow alert.
Following the rains in the country has been an outbreak of dengue so far leaves a dead and more than a thousand infected, according to the Ministry of Public Health. Read Article
