Warning of Mexican Drug Trafficking in Peru

Terra.com.mx reports that a big threat for the next president of Peru, Ollanta Humala is the increased presence of drug trafficking. The presidencies of Alejandro Toledo and Alan Garcia lacked action against drug trafficking while increasing business corruption, according to drug trafficking expert Jaime Antezana. Peru has become the world’s largest producer of coca leaf and experiencing an increasing number of drug traffickers in its territory. Mexican drug cartels such as the Sinaloa and Tijuana buy cocaine Peru to distribute world-wide. Furthermore, there is a rising problem of money-laundering in casinos and gambling halls. A security consultant, Ruben Vargas warns of increasing instability and violence that could become like that of Mexico today.
