United Nations: In three years 1,400 victims of displacement, murdered

This was stated by Terry Morell, UN representative for displaced people in Colombia.

He did it during the hearing of accountability in this displaced displaced citing that he had convened the Constitutional Court.

Morell said that while the UN recognizes advances in clarifying the prosecution of cases by forced displacement, there is still impunity for this crime.

So, made an urgent appeal to the Prosecutor against the subject, because according to her between 2007 and 2010 there have been more than 1,400 murder victims of displacement.

In this regard, the attorney general said Viviane Morales already submitted seven convictions for forced displacement.

In addition, eight cases have been solved of forced displacement, including massacres like El Aro, in 1997, El Naya Chengue Macayepo and in 2001, El Salado, in 2000, and Mapiripan in 1997.
