U.S. Sanction on Venezuelan Oil Company, Ecuador Supports Chavez

According to ElComercio.com Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez thanked Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa for his support in rejecting the sanctions imposed by the U.S. on Venezuelan oil company PDVSA for selling oil to Iran. Chavez called the sanctions “an empire aggression.” The sanctions were imposed during an OAS assembly in El Salvador. Reportedly, Chavez blames the U.S. for the eight-point drop in the Lima stock exchange after the victory of Ollanta Humala. Chavez and Correa met in Salinas for talks to strengthen the Latin American countries and form a ‘peace zone’ region. The Venezuelan president stated that the U.S. would not be able to destabilize any South American country through their “imperial madness.”Read Article
