Trujillo, Peru: Married Couple Arrested for Pimping

On June 13, 2013 La Republica reported that police have arrested Eugenia Vásquez Pirgo and her husband, Alexander Alfredo Polo Velásquez, on charges of pimping. The couple operated their pimping network out of their home in Trujillo, where police discovered ten female prostitutes, including three minors.

Police are now seeking the whereabouts of Percy Nuñez Quinde, accused of luring the girls to Trujillo from different locals. The victims initially left their homes in the jungle with the promise of good paying jobs in Trujillo. However, after they arrived in the city they were forced into prostitution. Read Article
