According to eluniverso.com, travelers to Ecuador, including tourists, will be required to have public or private health insurance, starting February 1, 2018. According to articles 57 and 58 of the Organic Law of Human Mobility, all foreigners entering Ecuador through ports, airports or land borders, must submit a certificate, invoice or proof of international travel insurance, whether public or private, valid for the duration of their stay in Ecuador.
